The joke in this âtoon is supposed to be that, after Anne tells Lynn whose features the little girl has, she then says they want the baby to be âan individualâ. So, dressing her in pink makes her like everyone else, but telling someone how she physically resembles someone else DOESNâT?
From the moment a little girl is born she programmed thusly, âOh look grammie got you a pink diaper âcause all little girls like pink. And a pink blankie because all little girls loooooove pink. And a pink bottle and a pink potty chair and a pink dress for your Poopsie-Woopsie doll, because all little girls like pink and dollies.â Of course the few who resist the brainwashing and like blue or green and prefer other things to dollies are destroyed in the feeding frenzy of nastly little pink clad monsters as soon as they enter pre-school.
When my son was born, he had my wifeâs nose. Now heâs 16 and it looks a lot more like my nose. But looking at his baby pictures, itâs obvious he had the same âlookâ then he has now.
When my daughter was 5 months old, we took her to Disney World. She was dressed in pink, had a pink diaper bag and was riding in a pink stroller. When my wife was at the stroller, people would say âwhat beautiful baby, what is her name?â When I was pushing a pink stroller with a pink diaper bag holding a pink dressed baby, people would say âWhat a handsome boy, what is his name?â
My sister informed our niece that her baby daughter didnât look good in pink. Nieceâs response, âEverybody gave me cute little pink outfits at the shower, what do you expect me to do about it.â
Actually, prior to the World Wars long hair was fine on Everyone..During the wars, the US Army Shaved the heads of Every Recruit to get rid of Fleas and insisted that they Keep the hair short to prevent Re-infestation..People forgot Why, but continued to picture Short Hair as a Masculine Look..WW1 began it and WW2 made it more or less Permanent in the American Consciousness..

Itâs all about individuality. Even for twins when theyâre going to be dressed in matching outfits.

With all those different parts she sounds more like Frankensteinâs monster than a baby. :)

Too bad they removed the extra fingers before school started. Christopher could have taken her for show-and-tell.

Pink, an arbitrary color for females.
It used to be, back in the early part of the 20th Century, that pink was thought of as a boyâs color, since itâs basically just light red.

I thought that dressing them in pink or blue gave the audience a fighting chance at getting it right when we exclaim âWhat a cute littleâŠâ
