True, but Alexander Hamilton was, by all accounts, an exemplary human being in most things. The Andrew Jackson twenty, the original target of re-issue, is a symbol of and founding member of the Democrat Party who stood staunchly against abolition and is simply too beloved to be replaced by some symbol of liberation, which he so faithfully opposed. But Hamilton did support a national banking system, to which Jackson was opposed, and established one of the first and oldest banks in the United States.Since bankers are more hated than supporters of slavery, Hamilton is considered the better target for elimination from the public consciousness.
Why would women care about whose face was on a bill? For one, they spend the stuff so quickly that they’d never notice anyway. Second, I haven’t seen a woman who uses cash since Reagan was president.
$.10 in 1950 is worth the same as $1.00 today. The system we have, pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, and paper dollars worked fine in 1950, but does not work so well today. Pennies and nickles costs more to make than they are worth. We should just phase out pennies, nickles, and $1.00 and $5.00 bills, and come out with new $1.00 and $2.50 coins. Then we would be close to what we had. The dime would be the same as a 1950 penny. the new $1.00 coin would be the same as a 1950 dime. The new $2.50 coin would be the same as a 1950 quarter, and the $10 bill would be the same as a 1950 dollar.

Hamilton was a key Founding Father; Jackson was a genocidal psychopath. Mother Jones on the $20!

Technically, shouldn’t it be a $7.50 bill?

I doubt too many guys want to walk around with a pocket full of $1 coins. Besides, how would you get them to stay under the garter?
