But we all know Tru(e)‘s real thoughts. "Gee, Coach Thor p, what I’d really like to be is a high school coach and only show up for work about ten days a year. I could work off-season at a country club while my hot wife hangs out by the pool where I pay some guy next to nothing to show up and clean the darn thing everyday."
@Ellisburkes: He couldn’t coach at Milford – “Mongo straight.” (Blazing Saddles). He was also a tortured soul: “Do you know what it is to be Mongo?” However, they named a tastey fruit drink after him… Yes, I mean the Merciless.
Random hand gestures – up to 9 for the year.Geez Art, staring longingly at a picture of his son, as if he has trouble remembering him, even though he sees him daily. And speaking of longing, you’ll be staring longingly at today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

Dad staring longingly at his meal ticket. It’s nice how the artists prominently display Tru’s giant meathook even in the picture.
Gil appears to be “Turning Japanese” in P1. Just where is his enormous right hand anyway?
Gotta hand it to these artists.

In P1, why is Gil holding a mask of himself in front of his face?

That’s just weird. Gil asks how Tru(e) feels in P1, Tru(e) answers in P2, and Gil throws his voice from P1 to P2 to ask a follow up question.
On another note, isn’t it time for Tru(e) to take a powder now that we’re off on a new story line?

Couldn’t Gil have asked True how he was feeling last week when school was still in session?

C’mon coach! You’ve got better lines than that. He feels just like he did the first time and every time after that.

Is there an inside joke in panel 3? Tru’s dad’s name is Art. On the desk are Art’s doodles. Neal and Rod are real cut ups.
