It’s too hot!! If I wanted to sweat to death I would move to Arizona! I wonder how many fires are going to be started with Illegal fireworks this weekend? You can go to the Indian Reservation and practically by sticks of dynamite! My dog hates you fireworks setter offers!

I’ve given up trying to post pictures, followed everyone’s instructions to the letter and still nothing shows up :(

Why is that? What is she afraid of? There were times I would have liked to add my 2 cents worth on 9 Chickweed Lane, but no……….(especially in her year long trek thru WWII). Kinda snooty if you ask me.

Woof is cleaning the grill, in preparation for the big cookout!

What Amethyst and I are talking about is the 2 weeks of 90+ temps in Washington,I know some of you have this weather in July as a regular thing, but we’re not used to it, And we have so much vegetation that is now tinder dry! Scary.

I used to know a couple, her name was Lee, his was Shannon. It was a wee bit confusing the first few days.

@poppetbearIt continues rather cool here in Barrie, only going up to 19C today. It starts to get warmer after tomorrow, going to be in the mid-20’s.

My grandson came over yesterday to thank me for my help with his resume. He brought it over to his brother-in-law and starts work this morning. The downside is, because he’s in a restaurant, he may have to miss the wedding. Told him new job was more important, as he wants an apartment of his own so he will have a place for his little girl to visit. I promised to save him a piece of wedding cake.

It’s been hovering around 100 for over 3 weeks now in my part of Ca, except for yesterday’s very very light rain and lots of clouds which kept us under 90. I don’t leave my neighborhood on the 4th for fear of idiots starting fires. Freddog is surprisingly calm during our fireworks show at the tiny airport about 4 blocks away. The cats don’t seem to react to our recent thunder, so hopefully they will also be okay.

The cats have to remind the manager they aren’t pets, they are the owners. Well so to speak. Lily can straighten the manager out if need be.

My neighborhood is mostly old, retired people who are in bed by 10. I have not heard a single fireworks thing go off in the 11 yrs we’ve been here. (it was 11 yrs as of yesterday. Today is #33 for me and Brad)

I wish the state would stop selling them. Not only do they sell them for the 4th, but the stands stay up until the 24th. I think that’s Mormon day. I don’ t know of any other state that celebrates a day like this one. It’s the day the Mormons showed up in Utah. Do they have one for the day the Catholics showed up? No. Or the Lutherans? No.

Who didn’t see this coming? Still waiting for summer to begin in the mid-Ohio Valley with temps in the upper 70’s and low 80’s for next 10 days with rain forecast for 7 of them.

The month of June in my neck of the woods had 9 inches of rainfall. Flood warnings have been up consistently for most of the month too. My garden , which started out so wonderfully is crying out for more that 10 minutes of sun at a shot. If this were snow it would be ridiculous. This year I won’t be sweating out the fireworks that land in my forested lot. That’s why I don’t complain…Love Mr. Oliver and his ‘drorin’ arc

I only look at Chickweed for the cats and the Hallmarks of Felinity-the guy is brilliant with his cats and the drawings of them and I liked the grandma’s WWII story. Lately both Chickweed and Pigborn have been pretty boring in my humble opinion.

I love “drorin’”. Oliver is so cute! Oliver can dror that guy outta there! I live in Northern Idaho, right by Spokane, and we are going to have 90+ weather until at least mid July. Being from Southern California, though, I’m loving it. QueenofAmerica – HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Hope you have at least 33 more.

I saw your comment last night, and yes it is REALLY NICE of Graham to allow us this space. I sense that Graham is a very sweet man, and not at all pretentious and “full of himself” like Brooke. I dropped Pibgorn from my queue sometime late last year, I still enjoy 9 Chickweed Lane.

And it’s good to see that Amarillo Jim is still around.

Oliver is SO CUTE!! But that “no pets” business is not gonna fly.

Eldo, I loved that little kitten photo sitting in the chair that you posted yesterday, VERY CUTE!

I think Graham should publish a book with all of Oliver’s writings in it! I would buy it!

@poppet bearHere are 2 of my boys: Tyler and twin bro, Oliver. With all the helpful guidance and comments it finally came together. I had to open a ‘host’ account and chose Photobucket. Gweedo has Flickr I believe.

Good thing Lily is on the scene today because that NO PETS sign will soon be stuck where the sun don’t shine! Oliver, as you are in charge of ‘drorin’ the strip you have artistic control. That front desk guy looks awfully snooty. Even Tardar Sauce would provide a more pleasant welcome!

Eldo, I looked high and low, to no avail, for a picture I saw yesterday of MY Oliver’s cute bum. One day I will find it again JUST FOR YOU. Look all you want. XXXXXXX

Just checked out Pibgorn and 9 Chickadee to see what all the excitement is about. Not my cup of tea so I’m not missing anything. You CAN’T beat TC and GRAHAM.

Eldo, I googled SAND CAT. Never heard of them before, what a pity they are meant to be in the wild and don’t make good pets. They are so dang cute! Thanks for filling me on them! I learned something new today! We are never too old to learn, are we? :-)

No cloud, no Facebook, no Photobucket, no Flicker, no Twitter…Hubby is VERY virus phobic, we (our computers) do not share with anything that could give us a Trojan, keylogger, worm, or virus. He is afraid of being hacked. Upload OK, Download- NO.
