She needs to shop in plus size stores and stop deluding herself that she will ever be a size 2.

Oh, ignore them, Cathy. Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. There will always be people who are thinner, fatter, taller, shorter, prettier, uglier, richer, poorer, etc than you. Just accept that and move on with your life. (But then this would be a boring comic, I guess)

Cathy either eat better and exercise more or accept the flab. Although, pointing dramatically and being in denial are much funnier. ;)

I thought she WAS in the larger and extra roomy (or whatever sales/waitress called them yesterday). Maybe by seeing the “other shoppers” in the wrong department, it will be the jolt she needs to go on a diet and stick to it.
Nah, not Cathy!
But, I have faith that she will one day dump Irving, and go cougar on some musclebound 25 year old hunk, livening this old story up for all of us who stuck around with high hopes.

If Cathy was thin, we would have to have a whole new story line – I suppose it could be done, and it probably could be funny too. What if one of her diets actually worked? Of course, then she would get pregnant, and that would blow it all over again.
