Fierce, if you’re talking about buying separate tops and bottoms - of course a lot of women do this. Me, for one - above the waist, I’m VERY slender, with a small bust. But I’m big through the hips and butt, so I HAVE to buy different sizes. However, I actually know at least one woman who has to buy her swimsuit bottoms in a SMALLER size than her tops.

I’m guessing Fierce is talking about women who switch the suit tops & bottoms & hope the checkout folks don’t notice. It’s one thing if they are offered that way – and some stores do offer it (tho sometimes they charge double the price too), but it’s not kosher if the suits are supposed to be sold as a single item in one size.
