Apropos to a comment yesterday: those certainly look like metal axes to *me*.

Thor should be seeing his supplier, Tubal-cain, about those axes… :))

Quite a collection of axes and firewood. I hope they’re fine quality.

Why is everyone so suspicious about Thor’s axes? If you can accept the anachronisms of dinosaurs coexisting with humans, then why would you quibble about a metal axe?

    Good Morning All!

With a name like Thor, you would expect him to be strong enough to remove an axe.

@Sheik: Who says I’m suspicious? :) Hyper-literalness here is for the apterxes. On the contrary, I appreciate the wild juxtaposition of anachronisms here.

(Whew. Too many big words before my morning CocoMocha.)

Sheik Yerbouti ~ being the paranoid type I am suspicous that he might have that many axes because he is an axe murderer.

I used to get hammered after a hard day of chopping wood, too. Would have gotten me axed at my job, though.

LuvH8, are you suggesting he’s an axe murderer because he keeps smashinig axe heads against tree stumps? Perhaps he’s just stunning them and not actually murdering them.

(tongue planted firmly in cheek, just so’s ya know)

LuvH8, does having nearly 50 guns in my collection make me a murderer, too? By the way, some volcanic stones do float.

The preferred tool for splitting is something with a fairly large included angle, like a splitting maul or a wedge and hammer. In difficult-to-split wood the narrow included angle of an ax makes it more likely to become stuck; if the ax is really sharp, it’ll get stuck deeper. Sometimes an ax is very difficlut to remove.

Oh, wait! That’s the joke. Sorry!

He can hit the ax heads with a big hammer and get both a freed ax and split wood.

Sorry to bring in real physics.
