Another joy of 1980s TV (well, most of it anyway) — this was the pre-cable glut era, so you had a choice of THREE (count them — THREE) major networks and perhaps three or four other local stations.Fortunately, there were plenty of VCRs out there and for a few bucks you could hit the video store and rent some movies (be kind, please rewind).

“They’re all sequels anymore.” Mrs. Olsen, a teacher, using bad grammar! Substitute ‘these days’ for ‘anymore,’ or add a negative, as in, ‘There aren’t any new movies anymore’ and she would would have had it right.
