There’s not a lot of places using dot-matrix printers anymore. I think the first one I got in 1980 is still in my attic.

I don’t recall any cool printers like this when Homer Simpson was hired to write fortunes for these inscrutable but tiny desserts.
Fortune cookie printer: $49.99. Ink cartridge for printer:$48.99
Just today I had a service call on a dot-matrix receipt printer, so yeah, they’re still around. Some are thermal, of course, but DM is still basic and reliable.
