Dad: "Hold it. Wait, I need to..."
Dad: "KACHOOO!"
Calvin: "Wow, this is your best driver's license photo EVER!"
Dad: "Until this expires, I will be driving EXACTLY the speed limit!"
Some states have strict standards such as you can’t smile. Supposedly it messes up the computer scans when comparing your image to terrorists or some such.
If you wear glasses, they say “look at this dot”. So you’re thinking “Why am I looking at that dot?” and that’s when they take your picture with this dumb look on your face.
Mine looks like I will look a week after I am dead. Texas has adopted the B.C. custom of waiting until any reasonable pose has faded, then shoot. I think they have a contest for the worst of the day, week, month, and year.
I used to work with a fellow from India. He would never exceed the speed limit until I pointed out that in America, the speed limit is the lower limit at which one should drive.
facial reconization measures the relation ship of the pupil distancs as related to another point on the face. Sometimes glasses show the wrong pupil distance, as well as the anti glare and other coatings that make it hard to get a true picture.
The first and foremost difference between the words licence and license is the convention. Licence is a UK convention, while license is a US convention. In the UK, licence is used as a noun, and in the UK convention, license becomes the verb. In the US version, license is used to imply both the noun and verb forms.

My OH wears glasses, and they always make him take them off for the photo. So he ends up looking nothing like himself!

Dad’s glasses are hanging in midair …hovering, even. It’s hard to read the eye chart that way.

Driver’s license exams are nothing ‘to sneeze at’ (at which to sneeze).
Puddleglum2 almost 9 years ago
I hate when people sneeze that way without regard for other people. Germs are spread willy-nilly.

If I had my way, speed signs would say “Posted Speed” instead of “Speed Limit”!
Of course, I rarely have my way…

I’m taking driving lessons when I turn 21 and my cousin is going to help me apply for my provisional license online.
I’m in the UK by the way in case anybody has no idea what I’m talking about.
Photos hold the fondest memories.

Not correct in the US; maybe he migrated from the US?
Is the minimum driving age 21 in the UK?

The Wolf In Your MidstTypical entrapment. You can’t wear glasses for your photo, but have to wear them to drive. And this is to aid in identification?

The correct spelling is actually “license” like Number Three posted!
