Joe that’s how most kids feels today. And a lot of them get in trouble because they think someone else is better.
I agree read a book takes you places.
When I grew up and the saying goes I didn’t have electronics.
Spammer alert it’s been on a few sites and I did flag don’t know if that does any good. I think spammers are here to stay to annoy everyone.
I agree with both Grog and lightenup …
That is, I think it’s lucky if kids have TV and video games, but I also think it’s fine if they don’t.
Most kids won’t thank you someday, nearly as likely as they’ll look back fondly at their oh-so-deprived childhoods someday.
And before “someday” comes, most kids will surely keep complaining about how hard their lives are, regardless of how much or how little they have. That’s how it’s always been, and I can believe it’s healthy for some reason.
The sick ones are those few, like Paris Hilton or Blogojovich or Leona Helmsley, who never grow up - they never stop complaining about how hard their lives are, regardless of how high on the hog they live.
I gotta say, one of my favorite things about Detorie is how he adds life to his characters’ lives - just mundane things that don’t prove anything on point, but just look real. Like swatting at a pesky fly while you’re trying to talk. I smile when I see that!

Sounds like my kids’ lives, minus the TV and video games. I hope they thank me someday…
@Kab – the spammers are gone, so the flagging works. Thank you to all who flagged before I got here. :-)

Stop playing the video games, and maybe you can turn that into extra TV time.
