Why have bumper stickers like that anyway?

Because those who have stickers like that are also pluggers.

Tailgaters are putting themselves in danger by distracting the driver in front.

You can read the sticker if you are in the next lane. Do not slow down to read them if you are in the oncoming lane while passing them.

Around here, the sticker would read: " If you can read this, It’s probably because I am doing 40 in a 55MPH zone, driving in the passing lane, while driving alongside somebody else in the ‘slow" lane doing the same speed. I am in this lane because I need to turn in the next twenty miles, and I want to make sure I can get there. But you won’t know for sure when I am turning because my signal has been on for the last 2 miles and will remain on until I do turn."

In my part of the world there’s a word for people who only drive the speed limit: “scenery.”

I may be less scenic than some…

I was so fascinated by your comment I had to google the top reason for traffic accidents. I got: 1) Distracted Driving 2) Speeding 3) Drunk Driving.

They wish to blame accidents on speeding, but it is usually someone else that caused it. Speeding tickets are good for revenue, but in open areas you are as safe as road conditions and your vehicle is.

I’ve had some spatial distinction problem for years so I try to stay well back. It took many frights and a couple bangs to finally recognise it.

And, I would expand number 3 from Drunk driving to Driving while impaired –that includes: drunk driving, buzzed driving, driving without adequate sleep and driving with certain disabilities (night blindness, diminished depth perception, etc.)Some people know they have problems, others don’t.

Not too good to tailgate, just too smart.
