I’ve gone through generations of bathtowels that just linted away until they could barely dry anymore. (A secret I learned almost too late in life: buy extra face cloths and pillow cases. They wear out first. Pass it on.)

Ha ha ha, I was going to suggest this, but some folks are easily offended, so I decided to wait for someone else to make the suggestion! Thanks for not disappointing me.
As for boats, and this applies to boats all over the planet, the helm is usually on the starboard side, because this is the side where the “boarding” usually took place…
Around here we tend to use the dryer. But NO dryer sheets. Husband’s allergy to chemicals is one reason. The other, I don’t want anymore UTIs. And they have found that dryer sheets can cause UTIs via chemical irritation of the private areas.

I have very sensitive skin & clothes dried on a line irritate it. I need the dryer with a softener sheet.

If it helps anybody, I now use detergent and fabric softner that is scent free with no additives. I seem to sneeze less and maybe that what helped.
