When my twin brothers had their paper route, they did it themselves. I would sometimes go along with them; they each gave me my very own house to do. I was about 5, so it was exciting.
My kids had the same route for about 10 years, it being passed down from oldest to the youngest. They did it all by themselves. We helped only on very rare occasions in winter when it was snowing really badly.

Thank goodness when I was at the paper route age our paper was an afternoon paper.

I wish teens could go back to delivering papers. Now it’s all adults delivering papers to a bunch of routes in their cars, and still wanting a tip.
