Jeri’s dilemma? “How am I going to demonize this girl!”.

When I was in 5th grade, a new girl came to our school. Her name was Maria; she & her family moved to New England from Southern California. She and her older brother looked the part: tall, tan, blonde, attractive. I was chosen to show her around. That worked well, and I thought I had a new friend, until the “popular” girls (aka the Jeri crowd) got their hooks on her. She was never flat-out mean to me like the “Jeris” – she’d even occasionally say hi to me – but the friendship was pretty much over.

Now, all that needs to happen is that Juliette set her sights on Johnson!

I like her already, love to see her run track!!!

And that’s 7th grade to a tee.

I grew up in the Army, and as a result, moved every two or three years. New tow, new Country, new school. But we were all in the same boat. There were some cliques, of course, but the Mere Mortal population was one big welcome wagon. Made it a lot easier.
