The cell phone and iPads will run down quickly if used and they will be. Just make sure the firewood is dry, have plenty of matches or lighter, and a crank flashlight and crank radio.
We rarely lose power for more than a moment because our apartment building is on the same grid as the hospital. However, one time when we DID have a significant outage my daughters & I just curled up on the couch with some good books. We had a battery-powered CD player for tunes, & we were all good. (My husband, because he works 3rd shift, slept through the whole thing.)

I bought my wife a hand crank charger to use with cell phones and such. Just in case.

Mostly fixed now, but cellphones won’t work if the towers don’t have power.
