I wish I could do that! As long as the money came from somewhere that couldnât be traced. It would still be morally wrong, though. I wonder how many of us would compromise our morals and use the spell, if the spell guaranteed that we could get away with it, maybe by summoning single $20 bills from hundreds of banks and wallets all over the country or something like that.
If you had a million tons of gold coins, you would quickly drive the value of gold way down. But just in case Iâm wrong, please send me a million tons of gold so I can test the thought.
âIn a barter economy, the real value of âthingsâ becomes apparent. What is the exchange value of a chicken, for example? A basket of apples? Maybe, to someone who doesnât eat meat..â.But the limitations of a barter society quickly become obvious. I have chestnuts, you have lettuce. You donât want but a handful of chestnuts, so I would have to swap with a thousand different people to barter away my chestnuts..Whatâs more, I donât even want the only thing you have: lettuce. Other people do want lettuce but donât even have any of the things you DO want..Far better to sell whatever we do have and buy whatever we want. We will all get more than we would have and supply more than we could have..Long after all the chestnuts and lettuce are forgotten, you can buy new shoes, I can buy a ticket to FANTASTIC 4 #8..We make otherwise impossible swaps nearly effortlessly. This is also driven home by what happens when you and all your neighbors have only bananas and the only people who even want them live 5,000 miles away. This where distributors and other middlepersons come in handy.
