A somewhat enlarged image can be found at the only work, by this artist, so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog (yesterday). Again, it is a cropped image (signature at lower right missing; perhaps for the best).Planning The Future is privately owned. A different coloration, click-to-enlarge image is shown by an auction result page.It says Midwood was active 1867-1871; but, also says the painting is signed T Faed RA 1875 (isn’t close to that artist’s signature though). This has a little information about the artist (currently, no Wikipedia page though). It lists both 1867-1880 and 1867-1885 next to his name. I know the first isn’t his birth year; not sure if either 1880 or 1885 is his death year (could find no biography).Instead of active 1867-1871, Christie’s uses fl. 1867-1871 (flourished during that time) next to his name. Maybe by 1875, he had fallen on hard times and started forging other artist’s signatures on some of his works (sad). The attribution might be based on the date shown in this painting by him.First work, by this artist, to appear here.

Sometimes I hope the next child is a little plowhand, then sometimes I hope for a boy.
