ZOINKS! Instead of a 1968 Peanuts strip we are getting instead a Peanuts comic strip from October 4, 1961 that was previously rerun back in October 2008! I guess it is chewing out a 1968 comic strip that may not fit this year or something, we’ll find out what it is in the next few to several days…

They’re all old. That’s the nature of repeats.

who is bothered about the time ! I love Snoop’s expression in panel 2. the repeats are always welcome.

I’ve said the same thing about my cats – they guard the house. If anyone breaks in, he’ll trip over them.

If Snoopy were a person, he would be saying, “I can hear you, stupid!”

Yes, they are all old, but the date is important. 1961 is pre-Beatles, pre-Cuban Missile Crisis and just after the first manned space flight. Cartoons can sometimes put history into perspective by preserving the current day thinking.

All of the Peanuts comics are old. Shulz didn’t authorize anyone to take over when he died. He didn’t want anyone else drawing his creations. He knew that the feel and focus of the strip would change if someone else wrote and drew it. Today’s comic originally appeared on 4 Oct 1961.

A beagle is generally a very effective alarm system.

@Snoooy_FanHi, Snoopy_Fan. Thanks for your comment on Sunday. -I just wanted to tell you that I will be going away on holiday on the 4th November to Leeds. I’m going with my Mum, Auntie and my Auntie’s friend. We will be staying in Leeds and spending some time in Harrogate and York. -I either will or will not be commenting. The hotel has free Wi-Fi in the Bar and Lounge. So it is likely that I will be commenting.-We will only be going for a few days. I will be back at the weekend.
