We have quite a few friends whose adult sons who have taken that route. They’re not on dope, they’re just worthless. No job, don’t want to find a job, sponging off their parents… It’s a mystery to me.

Just remember: according to thermodynamics, if there is no resistance, there is no work being done. So, filling a vacuum (even a mental vacuum) is not productive of work.
