Most people don’t understand new people…Once they do understand them everything changes…It’s hard to dislike someone you understand, unless they really are a jerk…

Teachers go visit the parents of new students in the US? Here the parents come to see the teachers.

Cabal… well I’ve never lived anyplace in the US where that happens…Here too, the parents come to the school for conferences… the teachers don’t attempt to visit 25 or 30 different homes.
Varnes… how about where you are?

just be careful you are not in NC. cops empty 10 out 12 bullets in people, thinking they are zombies, and get away with it.

In Japan they have periodic half-days, where the teachers go visit ALL their students’ parents.

There are school districts that visit students at home in the U.S. They aren’t in the majority, but they’re out there.

I’m somewhat suspicious of everyone until I get to know them… then I REALLY get suspicious.

In the school where I taught, teachers did not routinely visit homes, but the kindergarten teachers all visited the “first timers” before the school year began. It helped to make the children less apprehensive and gave the teachers some insight about the families they came from.

Every comment in here was made 8 years ago, but I’m going to have my say anyhow. Nobody understood what was happening. Mr. Burke threw out the “I’m black” to Miss Plainwell and when she bit, he changed course with the “Look at how handsome I am”. FUNNY!
As for Al Nala, if you don’t remember Mr. Burke, you haven’t been paying attention or else you haven’t been reading the whole comic! Miss Plainwell and Frazz got him on a diet and running. He lost a lot of weight. Plus, he and Frazz play basketball against each other every chance they get.
