Oh lord, is that the truth! On New Year’s Eve I visited with some friends who had about five young children between them. The ear-splitting sound of their 10-9-8 count-down was agonizing! I was never so glad to see a year end.
On the weekend, one of my more distant neighbors gives an outdoor party for small girls. They must be having fun because it always sounds like “the horrible massacre of the little girls”. :)

This was a broadcast of the emergency sound effect. Had there been a real emergency she would still be screaming and you would be deaf.
