I kept looking at the third panel wondering why Sluggo was picking his nose. Then I realized that my “pointing hand” cursor had landed exactly over his cartoon hand and was exactly the right size to make the illusion perfect.
Was there a ‘50s “thug look” that involved wearing a cap backward? I remember tough guys wearing their hats cocked or slightly sideways to appear rough, but not backwards. I’m sure someone who remembers social styles in the early ’50s can tell me.
So, I wonder, did Sluggo get anywhere with Spike’s Goil ?Also, as this is Three Rocks, TN, why does Spike have a NYC accent?? Did his family move, or is he affecting one to appear tough! Likely watches Bowery Boys flicks on his small screen TV !!
