Some of the leaves here started falling here 3 weeks ago, very confusing. I have a lawn to rake now.Roy Batty loves to watch them fall.Great to see TC back, I had to wait until this morning to see Monday’s and today’s, (torture). Two other comic artists I follow publish limited strips in their feed due to health/ burnout issues. I missed TC all day, but did not check my phone to save on data.
According to the weather people (whom I take with a grain of salt – them and their Doppler bazillion), it might drop to the high 80s next week around here. That being said, it has been a very mild summer. Usually by July 1 the house is closed and the a/c runs 7/24. Not this year. We’re still opening the doors and windows in the morning and don’t close it up until around noon. And, we haven’t had those hot dry winds (like Santa Anas for anyone who knows what they are) but once or twice instead of daily or for days on end.
I still want summer over because I don’t like it. And, it means it’s closer to vacation time!
Oh, now, Annie! It’s not death! The trees are just laying a blanket on the earth to keep it warm all winter, and when Spring comes they get a whole new wardrobe!
The aspens will be putting on their show in about 2 – 3 weeks starting in the highest elevations. Fall in the eastern sierra is just heart stopping beautiful.
I’m with Woof here. I hate to see the end of summer. SallyLin – if the fallen leaves are a blanket to keep the earth warm, why do we rake them up? Sounds like a good excuse not to rake!
All the Southern CaliforniansI too,. hated the Santa Ana’s. 87 degrees on Christmas day just isn’t right! And sitting in an un AC classroom, all the windows open, melting in a puddle is not the way to learn anything.I guess we needed to be reminded that SoCal is really a desert.
I saw it. It’s amazing that the kittens knew there would be help for them out on that boat – or they were just so desperate that they would endeavor to swim that distance!
It doesn’t feel like we had much of a summer here in Birmingham. Temps hardly made it up to 70 and most days were cloudy with some showers. Had a thunderstorm this evening. The cats don’t seem bothered by thunder.
I am home! Tired, but sure glad I am in my own place. Need to rest because I have a doctor’s appointment in the morning. Two more cards today. Assume they will forward any that come from now on. Can not believe how long it too k to get checked out.
Oh well, will let you know what Doctor says tomorrow. Thenk you all and good night. I have a lot of sleep to catch up on.
Come on, Eldo. Exactly where are you? I grew up on Conant Street, and went to LB State. Sounds like you are closer to Huntington Beach. Great water near the pier – course that was 40 years ago….
A bountiful day everyone.-————————UPDATE ON MY LEFT EYE: I saw the eye surgeon yesterday. He said that my vision is steadily improving. Thanks again for all your good wishes, good karma and prayers.-————————I have a most urgent prayer request. God knows what it is . I know that He can provide what is needed. Thank you and God Bless You.-————————Have an awesomely great day, my friends.
In Texas, the Live Oak trees drop some leaves in spring and fall, but never all their leaves like trees in the North. Pain in the butt from a raking point of view, but they are huge, nice trees. Can grow to be 80 feet tall and over 100 years old. >^..^<
