Rose is Rose by Don Wimmer and Pat Brady for October 11, 2015
Transcript:
Jimbo: Gus and Carl are definitely in there. They'll corner me and go on and on about their high school football triumphs. Rose: Gwen will show me endless photos of her puppy...Janice will try to get me to sing. Jimbo: This is ridiculous! It's a party! We should have fun! Rose: We must avoid obnoxious people! Jimbo: So we'll politely excuse ourselves and move on to other guests! Rose: Yes! Woman: Guess how many trophies I have. Man: I almost made a sixty-five-yard touchdown! Woman 2: ...This album is just shots of Dee Dee sleeping... Rose: Uh-huh. Woman 3: Rose! It's karaoke time!

Does anyone wonder what the other guests say about Rose and Jimbo when they’re not around?

I like the beginning where Jimbo is peering through the window. It looks like he is staring out of a jail cell, which I’m sure reflects how he truly feels about attending this party.

Rose and Jimbo are a little too popular for their own peace of mind. Everyone disturbs their peace for a piece, and think that they don’t mind. Mind you, if a certain song gets played, Vicki might take the mic, then they’d be more popular.

All they have to do is change the subject. For instance, the answer to “Guess how many trophies I have?” should be, “Oh, jeez…can’t remember, I know you told me last time. Oh, by the way, did the town finish paving your neighborhood? The potholes were AWFUL”

Think Vicki’s needed to protect both Rose and Jimbo. Why in the world they’d want to even leave their home to attend is another matter.
