Between 1932 in 1939, Oskar Speck kayaked from Germany to Australia- only to be detained in a WWII internment camp for four years upon his arrival. If all the Scrabble tiles ever produced were placed in one long line, they would stretch 50,000 miles- twice the circumference of the earth! Gray seals sleep for only 90 seconds at a time.

A 1½-minute sleep sounds like a cat nap to me.

Gray seals have a whale of a problem.

It probably helps them from being sneaked up on & eaten by a Polar bear.

I take it Herr Speck, avoided talking to anybody or reading newspapers after 1936.I’m sure the Aussies we’re tickled to have been “invaded” by the one-man Kriegsmarine!!

50,000 miles of Scrabble tiles, and I still don’t have any vowels except “i,” and nothing for triple word score.

Other languages must produce their own Scrabble versions with different letter distributions. For example, the letters J, Q, and Z are very common in Spanish and French, and probably of a lower point value then in English. Same with K in German.

That’s strange. I can only stay away for 90 seconds at a time…
