I got hired for a job once, where 1st day of training followed this girl around who was doing door to door sales, I thought no way, I’m done but I’ll give it half a day. She totally ignored the no soliciting signs, people would yell at us…call the police but she would take off before they got there.
I guess its a low priority in the grand scheme of things, so a lot of sales people just ignore them.
I have No Soliciting signs on both my doors. Last week I was outside using a grinder to take apart some scrap metal for salvage and 2 people walked up. I stopped what is was doing and the first thing I said was, “I don’t accept soliciting of any kind.” They then said we aren’t soliciting. So then I told them I didn’t need Jesus either. They said nope we aren’t here about Jesus. They then tried to sell me home improvements. Yep I lost my cool while I was telling them how stupid they were and to leave my property or I would have them arrested for trespassing, I explained the definition of soliciting to them and gave them the definition of trespassing and pointed out the property lines so there would be no confusion. See I recognized the woman and she had stuck her business card in my front door right next to my sign that says, No Soliciting this includes religious and charitable organizations. If you knock don’t be surprised by a bad attitude. I guess she figured she didn’t knock that time huh.
I’m single and live alone (except for the dog). Sales guy knocks and asks who makes the decisions in the house. I say I do. He says what does your husband think about that. I told him to get off my property and slammed the door in his face. Idiot.
I understand this is an actual business in Australia. I have a stack I ordered online to sell door to door, but haven’t done so due to more lucrative employment.
like the time I was just putting the trans in after a clutch replacement, so I could get to work in 2 hours, and a guy was kicking my foot to tell me about Jehova and to sell me the “Watchtower”. Boy, did he hustle down the driveway fast(in his wheelchair), after I started cursing him, I was not amused.

She really is in danger more than the blond girl?

I noticed the irony; should have left the signs blank then offer a printing service.

My favorite sign is on grocery stores— Shirt and Shoes Required. I guess everything else is optional.

Reminds me of this bit from Cheech & Chong’s classic “Sister Mary Elephant”:
On the first day of my summer vacation I went downtown. To look for a job. Then I hung out in front of the drugstore.
On the second day of my summer vacation I went downtown. To look for a job. Then I hung out in front of the drugstore.
On the third day of my summer vacation I got a job. Keeping kids from hanging out in front of the drugstore.

If the signs are made by Microsoft or Apple, either an expensive update or a new model will be available soon…
