He still would have to have the right connections with prince Harry. Seems unlikely. Time to go back to the comedy of the right wing nuts. Ben Carson provided a few goofy thoughts this week.
I worked for a Brit who sat next to the Queen at a dinner 25 years ago, and she said something to the effect that a little M-J wouldn’t really hurt would it? So maybe grandma would approve after all.
Phooey! Where’s the follow-up to last Sunday’s clown car rant? I hope there will be more as there’s plenty of inspiration for G.T., and desperation from the rethugs.
Some have also suggested it is a good idea to arm teachers as a means to protect schoolchildren, a ridiculous idea, which would only lead to more accidental shootings. It is not so easy for those who are not in law enforcement to immediately size up a situation and act appropriately. Even for those who are trained, it is not easy. We are hearing about more accidental and unfortunate events involving law enforcement every day, so I hardly think the solution is to arm everyone to the teeth.
“It has been shown that where ever there are more guns, there are more deaths. One follows the other.”.Chicken or egg?.If people feel safe, they tend to leave weapons behind. If people feel unprotected by society, they tend to protect themselves..The former mayor of Cali, Columbia noticed this as the main cause of homicides (along with drunkenness). Thus, poor policing, unreliable judicial system, distrust for authorities create situations in which people believe their only hope lies within themselves..If people were civil to each other, fewer would consider those around them threats. If murderers were arrested soon after every killing and removed from causing public danger, fewer would worry about needing weaponry on hand..Conversely, if you threaten to disarm those you are clearly not protecting, you look as if you are just setting them up for the slaughter and creating even more distrust..Scramble the egg and fry the chicken.
@DavidHuieGreen“More guns, more deaths.-Less guns less deaths. -No chicken or egg dilemma here unless you want to make it one.”.1,000 guns in the hands of 1,000 good, careful people yields zero deaths (without cause)..Just 1 gun in the hands of 1 bad or otherwise homicidal person can yield hundreds of deaths..Conclusion? The person using the gun is the critical factor..(And, of course, the truly murderous can use many ways to kill since they have time to plan. I won’t even dare tell all the potentially dangerous people what they could use. Think of how many ways people accidentally kill themselves even with MSDS sheets to warn them.)
But my point still stands. .People carry weapons if they believe they are unprotected by society. This makes society more dangerous and increases the feeling self-protection is needed.. Convince them they are safe and fewer will carry weapons. .Try go disarm them and you increase their fear of government and personal safety ~ after all, what good person fails to protect the potential victims?. That is how they correctly see themselves unless they are intending to victimize and those don’t care about laws.
1000 guns in good, careful hands will still yield accidents, suicides, guns taken out of those hands and used on their owner. Nobody’s perfekt. As for all the good guys with guns, Reagan was surrounded by trained, armed, vigilant people. What happened to him ? And Carson did indeed say that the robber wanted to talk to the guy behind the counter, not him. I heard the tape.

Some folks just aren’t cut out to be farmers. Need constant contact with reality, even if your crop is designed to alter reality…
