We leave the paper like that because the cat insists on unrolling it if the paper is on the holder, over or under! We close the lid to keep the cats from drinking from the toilet (yes, cats do it too!). Up side to keeping the lid down is that in the middle of the night the wife habitually goes to lift it. If for some reason the lid is up, she finds out the easy way, not the hard (cold and wet) way.
Wait! Wait! If you leave the roll on the top of the tank, should the paper exit from the left, or from the right? What side of the tank should you leave it on?
Definitely paper from under so the cats can’t roll out the roll ;^)Please lid up because when ya gotta go…it’s usually in a hurry! @ ladylagomorpg76: You are so right. However, happiness is having separate bathrooms (and your own computer.)
The eternal TP question should be part of the test before being issued a marriage license. The final test would be a cross-country trip in a 20 year old RV with a couple of borrowed kids.
only problem i see here is if your toilet is in a cramped area in your bathroom and you gotta reach behind you to grab the roll. been there in the middle of the night and trying hard not to wake up too much – only to have to figure out where the ‘__’ tp is and end up being fully awake by the time you twist both ways and bang your hand on the sink or wall before you get a hold of the roll

It matters not whether it is over or under. It matters whether it is there or not.

You should also have a spare roll within reach..This also is the answer to seat up or down. Always close the lid.

Over, always over. As for up or down. Toilet seat lids are neat and an equalizer. This way both genders should lift to use and put down when done.

After that Mythbusters episode about the aerosol effect of flushing I always put the lid down first.

Another advantage of keeping the lid down is that it prevents the dog from drinking out of the toilet.

The original patent for toilet paper shows the roll over the top

I thought Ann Landers settled this problem years ago, although all bets are off if there’s a cat in the house !

Pfft… the holder is broken and the spring jumps out at them. They’re just scared

Our toilet seats and lids gently lower themselves! Now if I could just get the TP to replace itself when the roll is empty…

It also keeps the cat out of the paper spreading business.

Is this considered “bathroom humor”?
Just wondering…

Anybody else remember pastel colored TP from the 1970’s? I considered it a decorator item. Sorry when they stopped making it.
