Things haven’t changed.. I had to collect leaves 65 years ago in second grade… WHY??? it never helped me get a job.

To Mom, Calvin’s approach to doing homework is an alien concept. Leaves……. something to be desired.

It’s ok… I “saw” it happen, and I also don’t believe it!

50 leaves is easy to collect. 50 different kinds of leaves is far more challenging. Are there 50 different kinds of trees growing in Calvin’s neighborhood. Can he name them all? There are about a dozen different kinds of trees growing on my property and I don’t know all the types.

TV could help out with your leaf collection.

I assume Calvin lives in a part of the country that has a wide variety of trees, like the Eastern seaboard. "Cuz, if lived in, say, South Dakota, would there even be 50 different trees in a small enough vicinity?

I think you all misunderstood. I’m sure Mom believed about the aliens. She probably is upset because she doesn’t think Calvin charged a high enough price for the earth.

Mom needs proofs.

Mom might not be so happy about his farming out the leaf collecting when she hears about the price of those leaves!

Maybe Mom should have sat on him about getting the project done two weeks prior.
