Um, what exactly is your point? Colin Powell had the appropriate answer. It is absolutely absurd to call him a Muslim on the face of it if you know anything about Muslims. On the other hand, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a Muslim – and certainly nothing that would disqualify one from being president.The real problem is with the motivations of those who bring it up in the first place. Their calling him a Muslim is intended to be an insult, a slur. They are trying to say (without saying it out right) that he has no right to be president, that he can’t be a REAL American if he’s one of “them.” So, while there is nothing wrong with being Muslim, there is something morally wrong with throwing around religion – or race or national background – in order to demean a person.
It is easier to sling mud than it is to actually try to solve the countries problems. The Congress has been skating by now for the last seven years.Soon the election cycle will be over and it will be same old, same old.

No, Lester thinks it’s okay to lie about the president, because only foolish conservatives will believe you, and they hate the president with an irrational all-consuming hatred already, so no harm done.
Yes there are some Republicans who are using this rather idiotic slur. And there are some Dems who are getting offended by it. If they don’t think there’s anything wrong with the term, why are they being offended by it? That’s the point of the cartoon I think. There is just as much bigotry and intolerance on the Left as there is the Right. It’s just better dressed.
Oh yes. And on these pages I believe. I would also say the wont of some posters (and let me stress the word ‘some’ there. I do not apply this to all posters) to respond to criticism of Obama with ‘well you’re just racist’ fall in this same bucket. Also look at some of the comments about Israel, Catholics, or some of the gems where posters say whites should be discriminated against in order to teach them a lesson. The Left has it’s share of bigots. They just dress it up under the guise of Political Correctness and righteous indignation.
