The good news is that Tracy has healed already. Marcus Welby was never THAT good.

But The Blank didn’t kill anyone. Charging him with murder is like charging the letter carrier with breaking and entering.

I think our great detective meant to say ATTEMPTED murder change. No one remembers the dead actor (especially Locher and Brozman).

We don’t know whether the guy lying on the stage bleeding is dead or alive. Tracy hasn’t glanced at him and pronounced him dead or “You’re going to live.” Only Dick Tracy can do that – there are no ambulances or doctors in Naperville. Ambulances are called, of course, but they never arrive.

I contend it’s not that Locher has forgotten the body on the stage – it’s that he figures no one who was reading the strip that long ago (weeks!) is still reading it. The only readers he has now have just started reading the strip so they don’t know about that body, and mentioning it would only confuse them.

So it’s left in limbo – it’s like Schrodinger’s Cat. Is it dead? Is it alive? It’s both and neither, as long as no one looks.

Of course it’s not exactly a cat in a box … it’s a body lying right out on the stage in a pool of blood … it’s hard to imagine how no one sees it … with the entire Naperville police force in the audience …

If The Blank’s grandson is also The Blank, what happened to Johnny Nothing? Will The Blank end up in prison with Ringo and Virgil Ohso? Were Chris Chendo and Half Note ever sentenced? This is moving so fast that there are still numerous unanswered questions!

The Blank would have done better to take out Dick Locher than Dick Tracy.
