Maybe Lacy could let him finish a sentence.

Now Congress still has double digit ratings, but they are minus!

The Lacy character is allegedly based on Millicent Fenwick who was a dear friend of my Grandmother and I had the pleasure of meeting her several times. While Trudeau takes a lot of artistic license with her character, he does capture her wit and outlook. I do believe that she would have dealt with a situation like this very properly and politely, but a bit more forcefully.

Lacy was really a wonderful characterization of an old Liberal and I mean that is all the nicest senses. I have always loved Trudeau’s treatment of this character.

This reminds me of the West Wing episode in which Edward James Olmos’ character is arrested for being Spanish in a white neighborhood when he’s on his way to an interview with the President of the US.

Lacy shows the opposite end of the race relation spectrum by being as out of touch as the police are touchy.

The cops are awfully lenient to allow Lacey to take her handbag in to the interview…

Maybe there is, and I just don’t know it. I would ask my phone, but I just don’t have the time!

It might be pertinent to note that a black man was murdered by a plainclothes cop on a hwy just outside Palm Beach a day ago.
