Personally, boring seems to be frugal. And, it bugs the heck out of those who can’t handle it.

Hey, books really can be exciting! You enter a whole new world when reading. Yeah, it LOOKS boring to others, but for the person reading, it can be an adventure. Of course, this only applies to novels. If your reading some kind of non-fiction or a text book, then yeah, kinda boring. Unless it’s one of those “Dummies” books. They’re fun to read. My mom and her friend would get together and then just sit around and read. My grandpa would walk past them and just shake his head because he couldn’t grasp the concept that they were having fun just sitting together quietly and reading.

Best novel in the world in my opinion: 11-22-63 by Stephen King. READ IT!

Beg to differ – S. King’s best novel is “The Stand”.

And the printed word wins again! Maybe if Junior picked something up… Oh wait, I forgot, he’s a kid, and therefore books aren’t cool.

LOVE this strip. Junior is a deadhead. Reading is a way to travel the world without ever spending a penny or enduring a crowded airplane with a wailing baby on one side and a snoring busybody on the other.

We didn’t even have TV until I was 10, so everyone learned to read for entertainment. I remember evenings spent in the living room with various family members – everyone reading silently. .On the other hand, I have a friend whose family reads out loud to one another..

Lots of people love Steven King’s books. I am not one of them.

A question I would ask Junior – if they were reading a kindle ( I think that is the right term for an electronic book) would they be more interesting? Reading is reading. It’s personal, not social. But people who enjoy books leave them aside when socializing. I’ve seen lots of people who cannot put aside their smart phone when they are socializing. So who is boring?
