At that point, a total of five people will know. (Six, if we count Burl, and we probably should, because it’s just the sort of thing he will brag of after his twisted pea brain conjures it into some kind of justification.) .Dale will tell all the guys on the bowling team. Dale has little in his life to talk about, so even such a mundane piece of gossip will move him to tell the tale, probably more than once, to anyone who will listen. He really doesn’t like Burl much, anyway. Burl always makes it a point to mention that he’s in management, while Dale is amongst the managed. .Marleen will tell all the girls at Lois’s salon when she getting her monthly dye job and back waxing. Between her and Dale, that will quickly spread the word through most of what passes in Crustwood for the upper middle crust. .Meanwhile, Jerry will be spreading the tale through the soft underbelly in the steam bath showers (“Please Latch Doors on the Inside to Avoid Incidents”), The V-D Oh! Adult Arcade (“Please Latch Doors on the Inside to Avoid Incidents”), and the dressing roomsat Spandex World (“Please Latch Doors on the Inside to Avoid Incidents”). .So, there’s a good chance the neighbors will hear of it even before they return home. Kitty will be more or less okay. Having “forgotten” once, Burl will save himself further effort and will leave a couple of gallons of kibble out over there so he doesn’t have to return. .The litter box will be in a sad state, but Burl cannot be expected to notice something that falls so far below his olfactory radar on account of it smelling like a summer sea breeze compared to what wafts down the hall whenever he leaves his bathroom.
