Dry From YesterdayShe took everything the Dr. had to throw at her and nothing worked. So she googled a low acid diet. No Pork, no cheese unless it is aged Parmesan is one, no nuts except almonds etc. surprising lemons and oranges aren’t acidic, they turn to alkali in the stomach. She used to complain that her chest hurt when she was a little girl, I never thought a child could get Gerd,. but she has a defect in the “trap door” to the stomach! I doesn’t close properly. And yes she got spasms, And stress plays a huge part in attacks. Her husband is in the Hospitality business and he had a couple of jobs where the restaurant closed or let everyone go. Now he is a GM of a Hotel, life is good and she is stress free. So with the diet and an occasional Pepsid she is finally healing. They do keep a close watch on her esophagus because of a risk of cancer because of the scaring tho the risk is low.
Cat Rule #9 seems to be Cat Rule #1 in my house. I get 1 on the hip, 1 on the feet, 1 next to the head and the other 2 switch up corners of the bed to make things interesting. I am lucky if the kitties give me any room on the bed. I think the only reason I get to sleep there is that I keep them warm.
Dry, I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy last week. The doctor found a small hernia in my stomach which could be responsible for my acid reflux (and yes, I agree, a bad attack is crippling) and a couple of small polyps in my intestine which have been removed and sent for biopsy. I will be discussing the procedures with my family doctor when I see her next week.
Last Rose of Summer; this was written for Casper. That cat has to be right next to my leg when I’m in bed. After a while I try to push him away and he won’t move. I have to pick him up and move him. 3 min later, he’s back. At the same time, Moose and Scooter feel the need to sleep where MY feet are supposed to be. A huge king bed and I get a tiny spot.
40 degrees this morning!!! I loved that my fingertips were nearly numb while hanging laundry earlier. Freddog and I hiked through a little snow north of Yosemite yesterday and the crunching under my feet was heavenly. Another summer like this last one and I may be moving much further north.
Re: Cat Rules # 9Had uncomfortable sleep last night due to Oliver constantly nesting between my feet. Although I un-anchored him many times he came back to roost. Must develop some gumption and put him in another bedroom….the Lord knows there are so many other sleeping options.
Wow people, we should have a dinner party! I have NSGS (non-specific gluten sensitivity, I’m lactose intolerant and allergic to chocolate, cloves and oregano.
The menu would be white rice and broccoli. ’cause apparently no one is allergic to those foods (well except Asian people can become sensitive to rice)Maybe just water?

It’s best to be quite clear with Chesney, Annie. Not that it will do you much good.

Happy – I got the NY part right. 1 out of 3 isn’t good if this had been a test.
