He could always get Guitar Bob in seven days a week, that would liven things up.

Hi Cappers, I donated blood today and I finally made a proper full donation! I took 3 minutes, 57 seconds. A new record!

At first, I almost got turned away because of my small veins but I suggested they try my right arm and it worked.

    Phew!

Even though this is my 12th donation, I’m counting it as my 11th since my last donation wouldn’t have been used.

P.S. There will be no DJ requests this week as I’m going away on Wednesday. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Jonathan Mason said (for reasons that escape me) the following: A game played almost exclusively by Americans – how can you call that a “World” series? It’s a local competition. Are there any teams not based in the US that compete in the so-called “World” Series?-———————————————————————————————————————-Where to begin…….Well, the United States and Canada are two of the largest countries in the world, which makes “local competition” seem very silly indeed. It’s perfectly true that Canada is down to one team, but for years they had two. (Two in the Major Leagues, that is to say: plenty of minor league and other baseball teams in Canada, of course.) It’s hard to say if he meant “a series of games” played “almost exclusively by Americans” or the game (i.e. the sport) itself. If a “series of games” meaning the World Series itself, it is true that Toronto wasn’t in it this year but has won it before. (Some team of destiny prevented them this year…..) If he meant the game itself? Nonsense! Baseball, of course, is wildly popular throughout Latin America, and in Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. I’d love to see baseball return to the Olympics, which would be the closest thing to a “world” series, but let’s face it: far more players not native to the United States play in our Major Leagues then the reverse. (Japan, in fact, has quotas limiting the number of foreign-born players on their various teams in their various leagues.) The highest level of baseball in the world is currently played in the United States. That might well change eventually, of course. (And I’m talking professional baseball, not Little League.) End of speech or I’ll be running into the beginning of our parade tomorrow!
