Sorry, Agnes, but even organic butter and sugar are not precisely benign. (We won’t go into what white shortening contains, but it certainly isn’t organic.)

I guess I’m still waiting for the other foot to fall. How will Agnes’ success be like a muffin? I am not a fan of “organic” stuff. That’s for people with much more money than I have. But one does lose lots of weight trying to avoid eating it.

Redkaycei Repoc“Nothing people eat is not organic. It is one of the most misused terms ever. ".“noting or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that formerly comprised only those existing in or derived from plants or animals, but that now includes all other compounds of carbon.”

.Having taken chemistry and been indoctrinated in the definition you insist is the only acceptable one, I TEND to agree with you..BUT, let’s be honest, organic originally meant something from living organisms..THEREFORE, their usage has a longer history and even if it didn’t have that ancient history, people are allowed alternate usages. There are no high priests of acceptable usage, they were all converted to organic fertilizer..“Nothing people eat is not organic.” would also be wrong because people eat dirt, paint, ice, snow, and other materials not composed of carbon compounds..ORGANIC(1) : of, relating to, or derived from living organisms (2) : of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides
