Funny how Mrs. Godfrey seems to be “at the wrong place at the wrong time”.

Mrs. Godfrey has some faults. If she started giving more credit to Nate’s plusses (which Nate has many) maybe, just maybe….

Don’t get me wrong. Mrs. Godfrey is a good teacher. She’s tough and doesn’t tolerate crap. But she’s older than Nate, and maybe, just maybe, she could learn some things from Nate as well.

But who knows? Perhaps Trudy will be a good influence on Nate, where he can learn to mind his manners, curb his behaviour, humble himself – and do better at school, of course – perhaps, just perhaps, Nate may see fewer detentions in his school life.

This can only happen in the U.S. and some very dictatorial nations. In true democracies, even a sixth grader should be allowed to express critical opinions, especially when the individual think he/she does it in privacy.

I would say that mrs Godfrey in this strip is worse than the North-Korea dictatorship combined with George Orwell’s 1984.
