What is it about sitcoms that makes them so unwatchable, and yet why do we watch them anyway? What is it about our lives that makes them so unlivable, and yet why do we live them anyway? RB certainly has a tap into existential angst.

@SameAsOldFfred: If totally rad, louis! became a real sitcom, it would actually be watchable compared to what’s out there.

I admit I had trouble getting the clarinets joke, though.

Nice touch with Ratner’s elbow pads.

@SameAsOldFfred - maybe it is just a habit. Try giving up TV - I don’t miss it one bit. I watch DVDs and public TV and rarely watch anything stupid.

Nice comic, too. I love Louis’ cool gestures. He is rad after all.

@Tommy1733: actually I don’t watch TV. I was just being facetious.

I don’t watch sitcoms. They’re not funny to me. Now The Gates is good.

They don’t say ‘crap’ on Disney Channel… do they?

@SameAsOldFfred - Glad to hear it, and I hope I did not sound any more sanctimonious than I am. Isn’t it great that Tom The Dancing Bug exists?

I’ll take a stab at that clarinets joke: When he says “WE’D better go too, maybe he was trying to stretch it into “reed” territory? Thus a pun, in a Barbara-Walters lisp.

And that’s why I think that the R-rated comedies like Dazed and Confused and Superbad can tell high school more realistically. One problem is that most “family” high school media sanitize everything, don’t make characters that aren’t stock, and don’t even cover half the cliques and social groups that exist in most high schools now.
