Well, he might’ve eaten 42 very smelly things… such as, er, towels… :))

Johnny Hart would’ve given ChuckTrent64 the Answer of the Day Award. So would I.

Well, Doc Toon, you were right. I talked to Joe yesterday for a long time. (There are no short talks with Joe). He declares that someone lied to Gocomics about his mental health and got his account removed. I do not know what the rant that caused this was all about because it apparently has been all flagged. We seem to have bully commentors who love to poke sticks at old men and throw rocks just to see if they can stir up a rant. It is too bad that they can’t leave people alone and just skip comments they don’t like. But NO! Let’s scream at other people’s freedom to express themselves. These big mouths are known as the “rabid always right.” Too bad. Sorry Joe.

Don’t it always seem to go? Bet you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. Took paradise, they put up a parking lot

JOE, Though you could annoy me a wee bit at times, I always read your posts. Although we might have argued a touch, we were never uncivil or insulting. I could never imagine anyone flagging you for your opinions, even when stated as burning bush fact. Hope you come back soon.

Ah, Lew. Don’t you know lying sends you to a bad place. Joe would explain it to you in detail. Or maybe you just want him back cause you need a target?

BRUSH HIS TEETH. Most of the time, that’s the problem. My wife explains that to me every morning when I want to kiss her hello in bed.

I’m with you, Lew. Joe could be very annoying at times, but I always tried to advise him to temper his ‘solid as rock’ facts.

@freeholder1- Sadly that is too true and funny. :)

Finally to the comic… lol Makes me think of an old cigarette ad, “Smoking is so gross! Smokin’s gonna give you dog breath!”

To Wolfie (and a lady Wolfie), his breath is probably perfect. The ideal mix of rancid and putrid.

Thanks for the update, Bargrove. Like I said yesterday, I hope he’ll come back. We don’t all have to agree or like what everyone has to say, but everyone should have the chance to say it (as long as it’s not offensive, hate-filled, insulting, etc). Come back, Joe!

Brother_James437, if you really want to bring these people out of the dark ages, you should suggest Twitter and/or Facebook as ways to communicate over the Internet. Twitter subscriptions are used to blog the details of one’s daily life ad nauseum in 140 character chunks. The Facebook Wall lets you share the same sort of information in a very easy sort of way. Both are easier than using email and beloved by anal expulsive people everywhere. You are preaching to people who use these comment blocks as the equivalent of the old style telephone party line.

“He declares that someone lied to Gocomics about his mental health and got his account removed.”

Whatever Joe “declares” about why he was banished ought to be taken with a hefty dose of salt. I don’t doubt that HE believes that’s what happened, but Joe would never admit that he was in any way responsible for the treatment he received from others. “As ye sow, so shall ye reap” is another Bible verse he apparently never learned.

If he comes back and his behavior is unimproved, I’d expect it’d only be a matter of time before he’d be kicked out again.

OH!! freeholder1– Try holding your breath and just give her a nice peck. Be real-wipe ur mouth first and maybe try some wintergreen mints at your bedside. (small ones) I find wintergreen less strong than peppermint or spearmint. Lots of Luck!! :):)

    Bargrove,

If you talk to Joe again, please tell him that although I did not always agree with him, I don’t think he should have been removed. Some of his comments about being in Viet Nam and other service for the country were of interest to me. I want to thank him for serving! I would like to see him back again!!!!!!!

I miss you too, Joe. You were able to translate my name into English, and because of your Viet Nam service, you are very close to my age and other things you have said leads me to think that you are either Tsa-la-gi or are aquanted with many Tsa-la-gi. You have stated that you are from Tulsa which is near the Tsa-la-gi reservation. Actually my decendents were Eastern Tsa-la-gi and missed the “Trail where we Cried”. Do-na-da-go-hv-i (Until our trail crosses again)

Well, this has been enlightening. Elsewhere I’ve mentioned that I got an e-mail from Joe-Allen Doty which I chose not to open or answer. I’ve been wondering whether that was a mistake. Now I’m thinking that just maybe, that discretion was the better part of valor.

As I just wrote over in Calvin and Hobbes, I suspect that Joe is a Jungian INTP. The way he expresses his thought processes and in what order fits. Unfortunately that type has more trouble than most in relating socially or in admitting error even when caught out in one - and Joe was a more extreme case than many in this.

I’m saying this, knowing that Joe and other concerned parties may read this, because I’ve already told this to him on one of these threads directly and forcefully. He needs to understand that “it’s not all about him”. His high intelligence, dry wit and even occasional great compassion can be great assets if he can learn that lesson.
