Many a war has been preceded by boredom.

And Germany would not have been saddled with repayment of war costs by the victors. In turn, Hitler would not have been elected, the V2 rocket would not have been created. Japan might not have been encouraged to declare war and the nuclear bomb would not have been developed. Without the V2, we would not have been in space and “La Belle Epoque” might be continuing with all its grandeur in the many small countries of Europe. Or not.

And I wouldn’t like to be under these who had to die or were wounded!! So I pray, we will be spared of war!!

Funny how having a stranglehold on ultimate weapons doesn’t deliver security long-term.

Trouble is, what do you do with 200 snowballs, when there’s no one to throw them at?

I thought much of the reason for the beginnings of WWI was based upon family squabbles between Germany and England.

    Bad “relations” perhaps…

When do you think Hobbes will sneak up from behind and pelt Calvin with snowballs?

Hope this storyline isn’t going to drag. I love Bill Watterson’s work but every cartoonist can be a bit repetitive time after time.

Calvin, what social animals yearn for is not raw power, but social dominance. What good is moving mountains? How much better to make Suzy move the mountain!
