Here in South Central Texas, the deer are too prolific for their own good, and hunting them hasn’t harmed their overall numbers. In drought years, you’ll see many emaciated deer, ribs showing, wounds that don’t heal, etc. Now there is a disease that may totally decimate the deer populations, called Chronic Wasting Disease. It’s found in 23 different states, and is far more scary than hunters to the health of our deer hers. It was first recognized in 1967 in Colorado.

Always room for a few more souls, wish the hunters would play fair & shoot each other!

A dog kennel would be a terrible place for a deer to hide – unrestrained dogs will chase and kill deer.

Lucky they’re not using firearms. Just read about a 10-year-old on his first hunting trip ever who took down two deer with one round.
