My wife had her knees replaced about 15 years ago. About 10 years ago she had a gastric bypass. Upon going to the orthopedist for a periodic check-up, she advised him of the weight-loss surgery. “There goes my Mercedes,” he replied.Pity that guy’s retired. Loved his sense of humor. He was about to perform a manipulation on my wife’s knee replacements to break some adhesions that were restricting full movement. He told her, “If you hear things snapping and popping and cracking and breaking, don’t worry about it. That’s what I want.” Then he turned to me, realizing I was staying out in the waiting room during the procedure, and said, “Now, if you hear snapping and popping and cracking and breaking, I’m pushing too hard.”
