Euel Gibbons could’ve enlightened you. As Wikipedia mentions, “A 1974 television commercial for Post Grape-Nuts cereal featured Gibbons asking viewers ‘Ever eat a pine tree? Many parts are edible.’”
DHBirrThe seeds are the only edible part I have found, and not all pines qualify there. Gibbons also said Grape Nuts reminded him of “wild hickory nuts”. Well, almost anything can remind one of almost any other thing, but have eaten both, I find no resemblance.

I would suspect that the pine tree refers to Christmas, but they are in rather strange order!

Recipe? Surely you don’t eat the Easter Bunny?!
Should be eggs… you could have pumpkin ravioli made with egg pasta with pine-nut pesto

And so we see the secularization of three formerly Christian holidays. What’s happened to Christianity in the last hundred years is very sad.
