Greek Gods New Years Frank: It's another fun New Year's Eve up here! Yeah, everybody is getting ready for the big moment. Ernie: Zeus is preparing a thunder and lightning show to ring in the New Year. And Aphrodite is pairing off couples for the New Year's kiss. It's great up here, but it'll be a rough start to the New Year down on Earth. Frank: Why? Ernie: At midnight, Atlas will drop the ball!

The main problem is, Atlas was punished by Zeus (for siding with the Titans against the Olympians) with holding up the Sky/Heavens (Uranus) to prevent him from embracing Earth (Gaia/Gaea). But artist/sculptors portray him holding Earth on his shoulders.
