Loved it!!! I used to be able to be able to diagnose about 2/3 of their problems before they gave the answer.

What is NPR ?This is first I have heard of it ! I have heard of the Prairie Home Companion but had the impression that it was a ‘40s-’50s thing.

Saturdays are the only day I can listen to NPR for any length. I mean, I like classical music ok but a little bit goes a long way.But I am from where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and the children are above average.

@Indyman “what is NPR?” It is National Public Radio. You may have a station with different call letters near you.

Or if the only program you watch on PBS is “The Nightly Business Report”.

I still listen to the Saturday 10AM NPR re-broadcasts of “Click & Clack, the tappet brothers” although Tom (my age) succumbed to Senility and Alzheimers disease, it shows to go you that no matter how many levels of Collegiate Education one attains, the brain matter just gets full of it and decides to kill the inhabitant. On the other hand, my old-time waitress at the local diner went the same way.. Go figger.

Around here, NPR has a classical music station. THAT is the only thing I listen to on NPR.

NPR is the only type of over the airwaves radio I can listen to any more. The inane drivel of commercial radio… with the incessant and obnoxious advertisements drives me bonkers. Also, most commercial radio announcers sound like they are hyped up on speed most of the time. I really enjoy everything that NPR has to offer. I do love Car Talk (and was very sad when Tom passed away relatively recently). There isn’t a program that I do not enjoy….. well, sometimes my tolerance for Prairie Home Companion is rather short. But, other than that, I can listen all day.

Wait, wait is my favorite, but I like a lot of NPR programs, including Car Talk. My alarm clock is set to my local NPR station.

I wish NPR would just get it over with and sell advertising like other stations instead of begging for contributions “from listeners like you” four days out of five…

I bet it has something to do with its status as “public”. Maybe someone else reading this has a better understanding than I do.

I used to listen to "Music Through The Night’ until our local station went all talk. I guess they’re still there but they have nothing I’d listen to. Do you hear me, WITF-FM?
