I just heard of figgy pudding for the first time earlier today. Must be a regional thing.

I made a Christmas pudding once. I decided to do a trial in November which was a good idea as the last line of the recipe was hang it in a cloth for ONE MONTH! I tend not to read things thru beforehand. I steamed it and it tasted like a moist fruit cake. But it was only good for one heating, the remains were awful. This was before microwaves too.

Deep-fried figgy pudding – sounds like something you’d find at the state fair.

Figgy pudding is something you have to give to carolers, because they won’t go until they get some.

As Chico says, “Ahh, Everybody knows dere ain’t no sanity clause.”

I’ll just have to make do with figgy Newtons.

Saw a Christmas pudding hanging from the rafters when we visited a home in England one September/October.

I have a recipe for figgy pudding (or as my family called it, “cake”) with caramel sauce. Made it last year. It’s friggin’ delicious!
