    I have heard that said about the poor souls in prison(most of them in for drug offenses). The phrase “living in luxury on my dime” comes to mind. When we import most goods from 3rd world countries because of the cheap labor, and even import workers that will work cheaper than US citizens, it creates a vacuum of jobs, people are going to hide thier pain with drugs and /or help supply them to others for a profit.

    Filling jails with people trying to get by is onlt creating a bigger problem, remember this is the education they get.

    that’s how you do it — ask for more than what you really want, so they’ll have something to deny you, and they’ll feel like they’re still in control.and you never know, you might get everything

    Actually, a few years back, in a bid to prove how “tough on crime” they were, New York had a mandatory minimum of 20 years for any amount, no matter how small. So, maybe “nobody” was doing 5-10, but quite a few were doing 20.
