we had winter break at my jew high school. that’s not us being politically correct. that’s us not accepting your lord as our saviour, so we don’t celebrate it. although some of us do appreciate cookies and eggnog
Are there really places where the December break starts this early and children get 2 weeks off? Around here the standard is that that 23rd is the last day of school (unless it falls on a weekend, then it is the Friday before). School starts again on the 2nd (or the first weekday after the 1st). That is just over a week.
Winter break here is in February. There is a week off the same week as George Washington’s birthday (the official Federal name for the holiday).

I would’ve thought the beginning of summer break being his favorite time of the year; two and a half months (instead of two weeks) of no school.

Personally, I celebrate the solstice. Have a wildly wicked winter solstice, and merry christma (sic), too.

Good point Baldo.

NYC’s Central Park? Not likely! Baldo takes place in East LA.
